English, will, hardwork!

English, will, hardwork!

I want to write, but then its one of those days when I just cant put my mind to it.There are so many things that are running thro’ but when I try to pen them down,I loose the thought.

Off late, I haven’t been reading much either, and this includes newspaper too. I scramble thro’ the front page, and skip all that is in between and finally only read the editorial section. Then I grab Bangalore mirror( its truly not worth it!) and within 10 mins I am done! That’s about how much I have been reading for past month or so. If I gotta improve on my language(honestly, I think I got so much to improve on, from the selection of words, to phrases to proverbs!) I have to read more, converse more,I soo switch to hindi with every other person! Of course, my hindi is not bad at all, but then it isn’t great either. I want to have this one conversation where I keep the other person wondering, rather then being the one, who has to look up dictionary (online or otherwise). Saurabh helped by using a new word every time, I am not missing on that bit, coz I got my friend in office, who soo helps with words. But that’s not enough, I will have to sit down and consciously improve my language.

The ones who do have a very good hold over their language are the ones who read a lot, this, I have experienced personally with so many of them, you can totally tell, not only the language but with it also comes knowledge. People who read can literally talk on anything under the sun, most of it is sensible ! Ask me about history, and I will go like “I always scored 80+ in 10th, and that all to it!” I don’t even have a clue on what the Aryans did or how the mogul empire breached the china wall or whatever!

I still rem’m during college days when I was one of the chosen finalist for miss fresher, the question that came to me was rather put in a easier understandable English then the one that was put to the other La’ martian school pass out. Then, it was no big deal, but now i have this insatiable hunger to improve on my language, but I aint helping myself with reading, I am just sitting on it and writing a blog on how I should be doing it!
