Monthly Letter Series: February

Monthly Letter Series: February

Hello there! How have you been? It’s officially Spring in our part of the world! Just like the Beatles song goes “Here Comes The Sun“, bright sunny days are here to stay๐Ÿ˜„. With Spring in the air and in my steps, picking up from earlier post titled Dear January, comes my next letter addressed to February.

I know what are you thinking! Me too! You are thinking “Kudos to you Anusha for keeping up on at least one of your ever growing list of promises you make on this blog! “ ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚. Right?!

Glad you have decided to be on this journey with me. Yay to me and thank you for your love and confidence in me โค๏ธ.

Dear February,

Boy what a glorious birthday month you have been! Exhausting and fulfilling both all at the same time. You February 2022 are taking a special spot in my heart for my fun, awesome, milestone birthday ๐ŸŽ‰.

With all the heartfelt wishes coming in from all corners of the world, I had the best birthday ever. The short vacation to San Juan Islands and the gorgeous Airbnb beach house was just cherry on top of the cake.

Guess what? I stayed on track with my exercise routine with the Peloton app in spite of being on a vacation. How cool is that?! You didn’t let me fall back on one thing that I have been consistent on since beginning of the end of last year and for that I am grateful to you February โค๏ธ.

I should probably tell you this, there is older version of this letter lying in the drafts folder with a date stamp of 3/1/2022! But boy was I exhausted after the Room parent duties planning for the class teacher’s birthday, Valentines day celebrations at school, mid winter break and then planning Ms. N’s 5th birthday.

The older version written by the exhausted me, reflected my state of mind. So I left it untouched and started a new one to you with renewed energy.

Along with all the surprise gifts and love that came my way this month, my mother surprised us with a box full of homemade sweets straight from Belgaum!! We have been still gorging on those buttery soft laddoos and the spicy chakalis! Yum yum yum!

Earlier in the month, Ginger was spayed. The first week was the hardest on all of us . The medications kept her sedated and helped her heal. It’s been a month now and this puppy is back to her naughty self โค๏ธ.

Before the birthday celebrations began, I went on a movie and dinner date with my friends. Just getting a night out with friends seems like an occasion to mention๐Ÿ˜‚. This evening was in plans for more than three months before we finally made it happen.

It’s another thing that a month later “Badhaai Do” is now out on Netflix ๐Ÿ˜œ. Albeit overdue, I was just glad that we did it!

On my usual morning walks, I caught up on “Before We Visit the Goddess” by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. It was a slightly underwhelming read after having read the “The Palace of Illusions” by the same author. I certainly enjoy her writing but the story didn’t do much for me.

Weekday nights we caught up on Ozark Season 4! I can dedicate a whole post to this stupendous series, that is how much I enjoy and have enjoyed this series in the past. Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia Garner are just marvelous in these series.

We had just finished watching Ozark when I spotted Julie Garner again, this time in and as Inventing Anna. I never got to finish it as we kept going back to Pennyworth (TV series) on HBO max.

You probably know Pennyworth as Bruce Wayne’s (Batman’s) loyal and tireless butler, legal guardian, best friend- Alfred. This series dates back to Pennyworth’s early life before he ended up in America. Of course we enjoyed it. Our family enjoys anything and everything related to DC comics and Marvel ๐Ÿ˜œ.

The last week saw me preparing for N’s 5th birthday celebrations. By the end of the month I was exhausted in a good way. Thank you darling February for everything that you sent my way this year.โค๏ธ

Until I see you next year, here is to you for putting a smile on my face ๐Ÿ’•.

Love,

Anusha
