Wake up Sid

Wake up Sid

I want to write about it.I loved the movie, excellent role playing by Ranbir, hands down, but the thing that actually caught my attention for the entire 2.30 hours (apart from Ranbir) were the colors and creative interiors.

Bright, vibrant, energetic, youthful look.

Mumbai Beats office, Konkana’s house, Ranbir’s Board. The wall in Konkana’s room, that has strings running, a photo,a memory that keeps finding its place there, I liked all of it, the lamp that hangs by the window,no tv!

I swear,I was floored by the decor, the office has a rustic yet contemporary look, the book shelf in Rahul Khana’s office (seen it before, but the jazz books added that extra zing). Orange, yellow, red was the theme. The painting of “Beta,Beti” in Rahul’s office. The dinning table that has chairs of different colors. Brick look, the drawings on the wall of crows, lamps, the old B’bay. The whole warehouse look, its creative (stolen from English movies, but put together with definite Indian touch and beautiful colors!)

Then, there were the Tshirts, the designer has picked up a great collection,of course they can be mostly worn by college goers (specially the cartoon prints), they carry that teenage look, he had casper, scooby doo, star wars and many many more, If I get my hands on any of them, I getting it framed he he he(duh, that’s in, u cut the print and get it framed and hang it on the wall!), they looked soo nice. There is this black tshirt that has paws(sort of) running from front, then in back. that was a beautiful classy one! I fell for his tshirts. Superb collection!

I specially liked this one moment, its so well played, he waits for konkana to open the door (soon after the fight with his dad), and then he is just waiting for her to ask, and soon after she does, there are tears, and he hugs her! That was a brilliant scene, the director portrayed Sid’s character so beautifully in that one moment. A grown up kid, scared, and that moment he just needed someone, anyone, he just waits for the words, and tears roll out!

  1. Hi,

Stumbled on a link to this blog when looking up some old faces on Orkut. Bin a while – so I'm hoping it's okay to drop a note.
Read through some of your stuff here. Nice writing.
Drop me a note in reply if you will talk. Else, ignore this missive.

Best wishes to both of you and luck to Saurabh with his pgpex (i vaguely know a couple of ppl in that batch).
