You have a got a mail

Sipping hot tea and ,blogging about that stupid mail guy who had lost her letter the third time, there was suddenly a pop up on her screen “You have a got a mail”. she switched to the other tab where gmail was already open.
The mail was from her college batch mate, it had been ages since the two of them had interacted. After college they were just handful of them that she was in touch with, this one wasn’t one of them. She was intrigued, why would someone mail her years later. She decided to chuck blogging and read the mail

‘Hi,
I know its been very long since we last interacted, I wrote this mail not to remind you this, but for a very selfish reason. I chanced upon your profile on this networking site, and happened to see this pretty girl in your friend list. I was wondering if you know her well enough to introduce me? I have passed the teen phase, where “Hey there gorgeous, I think I would like to know you” kind of lines would get me anywhere. There is something about this girl that appeals.
I do hope you’d be think about this and you never know may be, just may be things may work out”

Why are you smiling mama? Trisha, her 5 year old daughter inquired
She realized she had been smiling the whole while she read the mail . That was some mail,no pretence, just a heart felt request. She decided to sleep over it.

She had married into a north Indian family, love marriage and now had been blessed with beautiful daughter. She couldn’t help but think ‘was this pay back time? return a favor for being blessed with such a beautiful family?’ she decided to write to her friend the next morning

When Trisha was on her way to school ,Ankit to his office and the house was all clean she switched on her laptop. While it was booting, she tried to remember when was the last time , she had spoken to Aarushi. She was her school friend when they studied in B’bay. It had been ages since they had actually exchanged mails or spoken to each other. “would she remember me” “how do I approach her” “What if she gets offended”. Well I would never know till I write to her. Deep in her heart she felt very nice about this and started composing the mail

“Hi Aarushi,
How have you been? Its been a very long time since we exchanged mails. The other day one of my old school friend happened to find you in my friend list, and here is a snippet of the what he wrote “I chanced upon your profile on this networking site, and happened to see this pretty girl in your friend list. I was wondering if you know her well enough to introduce me? I have passed the teen phase, where ‘Hey there gorgeous, I think I would like to know you’ kind of lines would get me anywhere. There is something about this girl that appeals”
I have known him and would like to believe that his intentions are very sincere. I would hope that you don’t misunderstand this gesture, just trying to help a friend.”

She read the mail like zillion times and finally hit the sent button. She felt good, because she knew she had done the right thing. The whole afternoon she waited patiently for “you have got a mail”. Evening came by and night went out without much excitement.

It was parents teachers meet at Trisha’s pre-school. Ankit took a day off and family decided to spend the day at nearby park. Trisha had a field day, while Ankit and she catched up on romance. That night before sleeping, wishing that may be just may be there would a be mail from Aarushi , she logged in. Her wish had been granted, there was a mail from Aarushi.

“This was quite a surprise. I must admit I am floored. A meeting with him doesn’t sound like a bad idea, what do you think :)Btw, it was nice to hear from you.Hugs to Trisha.”

She couldn’t believe her eyes, years later out of now where her friend did respond! She immediately forwarded the mail to him “here is your chance, don’t screw it up. All the best :)”

That night, she couldn’t help but think what if she was chosen to do this, what if this mail exchange could actually get them together and somewhere she would have played a small role. She smiled, Trisha in her arms and Ankit next to her, She only wished the best for them.
